What is Perp City?

Perp City is a place where anyone can create and trade on tribal markets. It lets you measure what's happening on social media to speculate on what will happen next. More technically, Perp City is a permissionless perpetual futures platform on live metrics derived from the internet.

What Are Tribal Markets?

A tribal market measures the activity of a group ("tribe") of people online. These markets test yes-or-no questions about the behavior of tribes throughout time, based on continuous live social media data from Twitter and Reddit. See next: Tribal Markets.

Why build this?

Most beliefs about the future cannot be directly expressed through existing financial markets. Instead, people must bet on proxies at best, whether underlying assets, well-named ETFs or memecoins. We believe that traders are better served speculating on the real thing. But this means finding a way to measure the real thing consistently and really well.
